The Long Ending Is a Metaphor

I wanted to embody that tough, gritty, sardonic, headstrong, lone wolf type, but really flip it on its head. So my hard-boiled inspired sloop is a nun. She's 33 years old, she's iconoclastic, she is this like out queer riot girl who makes this choice to join a convent in New Orleans and retains all of her subversiveness within this convent. It was my way of like creating an insider who's an outsider, someone who's obsessed with mysteries herself. I find both phenomenally satisfying and highly problematic. The long goodbye is a metaphor.
