Migrants or Refugees: Rethinking Germanic Migration

This chapter challenges the traditional view of the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Britain as a large-scale organized invasion and instead proposes that it was a migration of individuals and small communities. It explores the lack of evidence for an organized army or nationhood among the migrants and emphasizes their disconnection from Roman culture and goods.
