The New Platonism of Platonus
From the third to the fifteenth century's A.D., philosophy was dominated by Neoplatonism. The achievement is so significant that it remains impressive even once we register a few caveats. For one thing, Platonus never set out to create a new philosophical system. Most Latin medieval thinkers had no access to his writings. In Arabic, his texts were only partially available in a translation incorrectly ascribed to Aristotle.
