Raising taxes on cigarettes has been found to actually taper teen drinking. A $1 rise in e-cigarette taxes brings a 10 to 14% decline in the number of alcohol related traffic fatalities per 100,000 among 16 to 20 year olds. People were more likely to stop smoking for at least six months when they used nicotine e-cigarettes compared to using other methods.
