Shiv and Roman's Dilemma

Shiv and Roman are polar opposites. What does she fear most about Mencken? She's one of the more emotionally literate characters on the show. Shiv has had to operate amongst powerful men as she's grown up, so that might have made her psychology fit around powerful men but she's also self-aware about that to a degree. And I don't think Roman knows exactly what he's doing when he mentions witches or hysteria because they're precisely chosen to do that.
