The value of achievement is one that says I as an individual or we as a company, value being recognized for advancement. But simply wanting to be known for achievement doesn't necessarily create a great culture in an organization. If you value doing pleasurable things in the moment or if you value long-term stability, maybe taking an initial job at a competitive university may not be a great idea for you. It's a mismatch in value.
