The Beauty of Poetry
A young Dutch seminarian called Hendrick. Kavanagh had never held much interest for him, but during the course he found to his enormous surprise that certain poems captured and held his attention. He wrote about his discovery to his parish priest at home in Holland. The parish priest by return of post wrote back, declaring, We as priests share with our parishioners the tough reality we live in. This is a reality that is mainly without any poetry, hard and without compassion.
