Is the Climate Crisis in Europe Going to Derail?
European leaders are trying to balance short term energy needs with long term climate and security threats caused by increasing fossil fuel production. Iitis obviously not an easy problem to solve. But the european commission, and my good friend franz timeman is the vice president commission, keeps convincingly arguing that the climate goals have not changed. He says that a little bit more of the carbon budshet will be spent now, but that has to be compensated by less in the coming years. So as long as they stick to that, i think it will not only be not therailed, but the transition will be acclerated.
