Two thousand and one was always intended to be a highly symbolic and allegorical film. In the victorian room where bowman is housed, a younger version of you sees bowman at different stages of his life,. Then he sees his own death before being reborn. The infinis orgy sequence appears to be a variation on thi saturnine astral magic that i have been discussing throughout this episode. And finally, cubic supposedly altered the movie dramatically during the etitine, dropping much of the dialogue in favor of telling the story through images and score.
