The Importance of Reading and Singing in the Classroom

I think there's kind of two routes to go with this. One route is definitely to just reconsider the repertoire and the way that you introduce, you know, those traditional concepts of your sequence,. But with different repertoire and with different experiences. For example, when teaching the rhythmic element Tom T dotted quarter, no eighth note, I have started to use the song We Shall Overcome as like a late practice reading exercise because it has that Tom Tita in calm. And we don't spend as much time on reading the song as we do on singing the verses, learning the history of the song.
