Maisie, 16, from Montclair, New Jersey: "As a teenage girl, I have been kind of taught and it's been implemented in my thinking that school is the end-all-be-all to my, like, adolescence in my life" Dr. Lisa says parents need to recognize anxiety most of the time is normal; if not normal, then it has been normalized. Maisie thinks guardians can't always be the sole reason that a child feels better or they can'talways be there to help. Sometimes we have to learn that we can handle our anxious feelings.
