There are very few entities who seed hedge funds, which makes it difficult. The seeding was a way of defraying the extra layer of fees that protege charged their investors. Protege's investment model was one of trying to achieve a certain rate of return relative to risks that the investors were taking. And in a diversified head homfello, that was relatively modest risk.
