The Tension of Russian Culture

The tension between pagan wildness and the civilizing effect of Christianity is very active in Russian culture. The Stéevsky, I think, would say that's actually where you want to go. You want to go into that wild place because too much domestication kills. There's so much of a holy food tradition in Russian stories.
