Pregnant women can get low platelets if the machine reading their blood reads it wrong. The most common cause of low platelets is gestational thrombo citrolysis, which means you don't even have low platelets. There's what we call a diagnosis of exclusion: something that makes someone's platelet count go down about pregnancy.
