The Romans' Response to the Humiliation of Sosa
According to Liffy, the Senate turns up the agreement to Sosa outrage. They send the generals who signed it back to Sammium in disgrace. And then it authorizes a two-year campaign which takes place not just in Sammium but also in Northern Opulea. So they're basically trying to outplant the Samnites by going around the back and attacking them on two fronts. It's only really with 316 that we actually pick up any sort of coherent narrative again.
