The Importance of Being More Explanatory
Many times the analyst will come up with a justification for not saying or not bringing the material you're mentioning into the room like that the patient isn't ready to hear it. And so there's a kind of a rationalization to not say those things, he says. "I don't know what your experience is but for me to be able to fully be connected to and motivated by the subjective world of another is actually quite powerful and beautiful" He continues: "Sometimes I think there can be a self indulgence that can happen."
