Is It Better to Cover Up Your Arms When You're Out?

I love the summer vibes and I love like going to the beach. But contradictory to that is I hate being in the sun. So I prefer to wear long sleeves so this sun doesn't like, I guess, burn my arms. It makes sense because when you go out into the desert, they say it's better to actually cover up the skin as possible.
