The Dialectic Dialogue
It's never been clear to me that what goes on in these dialogues is actually dialectic. The closest one would be something like Mino, the conversation with the slave boy in Mino. I think if you take this passage seriously, at least that it's affirming the necessity of agency on the part of a learner and his beloved.
