How I Survived as a Photographer
I moved to New York right after college in 1974, and I worked part time as a picture researcher for several months. And I began dragging my little portfolio of black and white pictures around to various different publications. It wasn't until 1975 when I made two trips, one to Haiti and one to the US-Mexico border that I really began to do something more interesting with my work.
