The Middle East Is a Very Interesting Area

The Middle East has longstanding political divisions, largely stemming from the fact that it's been the land of empires and nation states are really an artificial construction. The Iraq war was a big part of what led to the beginning of the break between the US and Turkey. In the last 30 years, since the end of the Cold War, America has intervened in other states about 130 times at a much faster pace than either during or after the Cold War.
