The Gospel of Mark Is Based on the Odyssey

The Iliad opens up in the middle of a conflict between the Trojans and the Greeks. In order to get to the Trojan War, she sets up what's come to be known as the judgment of Paris. The whole text is set up by the machinations of the goddess Eris against whom the Olympian gods are remarkably impotent.
