La Chatelier's Principle of Chemical Equilibrium
In a chemical system, add equilibrium, which means things are constant or unchanging. La Chatelier's principle states that the equilibrium of that system will always shift such that it counteracts the imposed change you've made. What does this mean exactly? For example, suppose we have an exothermic reaction, that's a reaction that generates heat. If I lowered the temperature of the fire, or whatever's burning, if I take out energy. So what will La Chateler's principle say will happen? Well, the principle would predict, that some change should happen that would tend to increase the energy of the system. And that's precisely what happens.
