Google's Move to Freon for Chrome OS

Chrome OS built on Freon, which is used by Chrome OS. The move to Freon was a bit of a surprise as the money had been on Google migrating Chrome's OS's graphics from X11 to something called Wayland. This should make the update cycle for Chrome browser on Chrome OS much sharper. And there's also hope that this may enable Google to extend the lifespan of older machines because browser updates will no longer be reliant on an updated OS at the same time.
