Is Private Equity a Diversifying Asset Class?

The larger the fund is, the more they invest in mainstream type of companies. So if you want to look for diversification, you tend to go towards more niche funds and most of the construction. Some productivity funds, one can see intuitively over diversification. But it's still important to know that in the past is not as rosy as what consultants tell you.
