Despite being theatrical and generating a lot of PR, I haven't seen a substantial shift to Russian forces that tried to defend those areas. It's clearly what they're meant to do, right? They're part of setting the conditions and trying to enable the Ukrainian offensive operation. From the maps, it looks like they're not yet at the first line of fortifications that the Russians have in terms of the trenches that they've built.
