Astronaut John Young smuggled a corned beef sandwich aboard the Gemini 3 spacecraft way back in 1965. He and his commander took a couple of bites while ignoring the food that NASA had actually included for their space flight. They tucked the sandwiches away, and they continued the rest of their mission. However, NASA was now aware of the contraband sandwich.
