James Bond - Is He a Symbol?

I think the more recent movies, they went and delved into James Bond as more of a character as a human being. He's basically a symbol. I don't know him fully, but I do know, I do see how he reacts in certain situations and that's what I'm gravitating towards. And so, but I've always seen him more as here's Indiana Jones and we're just focusing on the end result of this person as we're seeing him.
