The Dark Part of the Data Is Missing
A few decades ago, astronomers thought they had a pretty good understanding of the way the universe worked. Then it was noticed that some galaxies were rotating faster than they should according to the laws of gravitation. One explanation for that was that the galaxies were heavier than they appeared to be. This idea was developed, instead of great depth in theory possible explanation for it is attributed to this substance called dark matter. We can't see it but it does affect things. And that's a big inspiration for you right now - realizing how many of us, yourself included, we forget about the dark part of the data exactly.
