Is There an Intentional Decision?

I'm very intentional about selecting diverse perspectives and diverse sources. I like to put into conversation ancient texts and more contemporary either engagements with texts or things that students might think are totally unrelated, and talk about how they work together or don't. But sometimes even in 2017, students might expect a more explicit discussion of feminism and womanism if we were doing a course in women and gender studies. If it's just a general intro to Bible, I think some students might be a little concerned about what they were getting into, maybe a little defensive.
