The Viking Era and the Sea-Level Rise
The ship was carrying as many as 100,000 porcelain vessels intended as exports. The other wreck was carrying timbers, probably being imported into China for use in shipbuilding. This is being described as an important find in understanding the maritime Silk Road. A plan to raise a 39-foot long, 3000-year-old hand-sewn boat from the seafloor was announced in June.
