We all carry a terrific bias called the confirmation bias, in which we seek information that confirms our beliefs. We tend to avoid information that challenges it. Socrates is a corrective to that. He's going to transform the greek gods into moral exemplars. For socrates, and this is part of the axio revolution, the gods represent moral exemplar. The gods can't lie for socrates; they're not 'geeks' as some myths portray them.
