The Three Beliefs About Attachment and Reattachment

When you have a tire that is too wide as it leaves the tire surface on its way to the rim, it detaches from the tire and becomes turbulent. The second thing that people talk about is the tread that you see on a gravel tire. So if you think about a road tire, generally they're pretty smooth. And so what the belief is, is that as air moves around that tire surface, it can stay laminar. That's why an arrow gravel wheel with wide tires isn't possible. But does this mean a gravel rim can't be aerodynamic? I'm going to talk about something called attachment and reattachment in a minute.
