Avocenna's Argument for Immateriality

Avocenna gives a similar argument to show that the necessary existence must be simple and without parts. He uses the same word for both features, saying that the necessary existent is wahid, or one. This makes it clear, in case we missed it, that he has just given us a philosophical version of the Muslim doctrine of God's oneness.
