Noble Blood

CHAPTER

Harry d'Amala's Braille Deception

After World War I, the German people were in a state of flux. The country they knew as the German Empire dissolved in the wake of the November Revolution. In addition to a new form of government, the end of war brought forth the Treaty of Versailles which blamed Germany for instigating the war and sought financial compensation from Allied powers. With the reparations the Allies saddled them with paying, Germany was put into even more unimaginable debt. This ultimately sent the country into such a drastic case of hyperinflation that, in some reports, a loaf of bread that had cost 160 marks in 1922 rose to over 200 billion by the fall of 1923.
