The Difference Between Mirror and Mirrorless Cameras
With a mirrorless camera, that means there is no mirror. And so the only way for you to see what the camera sees is for the sensor to be reading what's coming through the lens and then show that on a little LCD behind a viewfinder. The battery life of a regular SLR was incredible compared to the battery life of mirrorless cameras. Now everyone just accepts worse battery life, because it's so much better than it was.
