Breast Feeding - I Can't Agree With That

Mike Birbiglia's new book, "The Power of Motherhood," is published by Simon & Schuster this week. In it he talks about how some hospitals are rewarding women who breast feed with a 'baby friendly distinction' He says the policy can have an opposite effect and make mothers feel like they're not being supportive enough. The medical profession needs to be more aware of what kind of benefits there are from breastfeeding compared to withholding formula for those who cannot or don't want to do so., said Birglie.
