Spiritualist Fraud in Times of Stife and Uncertainty

Rose Machenburg worked as a private investigator and wrote about fraud psychics. She said she had no problem with people who believed in spiritualism but only wanted to expose fraudulent mediums for financial gain. One of the lessons that Machenburg tried to impart to people was that spiritualist fraud tends to rise in times of strife and uncertainty. On April 10, 1968, Rose died in her apartment at 310 West 24th Street in Manhattan.
