The Power of Trust in God
The church has discerned that freedom isn't the ability to do whatever I want, it's the power to do what I ought. To be able to trust in God and cleave to his truths is an expression of human freedom. And also it's not contrary to human reason, right? We don't know everything about the other person, yet we can still make promises to them.
