Are the Words Good and Bad a Vehicle for Power?

Psychology tells us, with some authority, we have three fundamental sets of needs as human beings. And psychologists describe those as mastery, connectedness and autonomy. The internal tension of the morality of authority is that you are being told to obey rules because they are in the interests of everybody. They also underlie some of the worst things we do, tribalism, raceism which is underpinned by this sense of group - what matters most is the group. So how do we express values without falling into tribalism?
