I would say outwardly there was definitely you know obedience um and kind of adherence to the instructions that were given to me. I think I was largely protected by that but inside in my heart there was all sorts of rebellion and defiance, he says. He also talks about his love for kuleo as a young man who learned how to play it at an early age. "There are things like that where you know outwardly we're always kind of growing in our understanding of what that means"  He continues: "That's a journey for me just like anybody else."
