Having a deep bench really matters. You want to have people lined up in the dugout, ready to take on the next job. As a c o, you don't have time to do everybody else's job on the team. And yet, it's hard to ask other leaders to take up the slack. Leaders are judged more on human centric side of leadership now than business performance.
