The Military Commissions and Guantanamo
After 9-11, the Bush administration decided that it would be a good idea to set up military commissions. The military commission system was set up apart from the federal court system because of evidentiary issues. A number of individuals at Guantanamo who were to be put into the military commission system did not get there until 2006 after they had been held at CIA Black sites.
