This improvised assembly was supposed to legitimize a new coalition government of socialists and liberals, under prime minister alexander kerensky. But instead the conference wrapped up having simultaneously endorsed and rejected the idea of a coalition. Kerensky now continued to enjoy a fantasy version of reality where he was in the final stages of consolidating power like a russian bonaparte.
