The Book of Logarithms
A man who reads a book with understanding as a rare creature is almost accidental. Popa goes on to criticize a whole bunch of competing epistemologies which are all very similar in very many ways but i can't let things go without mentioning this passage from popa and his remarks on probability theory. nowhere has the subjectivist epistemology had a stronger hold than the field of the calculus of probability, he writes. This amounts to interpreting boolean algebra including the calculus of propositions as a calculus of certain knowledge of certain knowledge in the subjective sense.
