When people get together, there's something he called the contagion that weaves its way through the crowd and turns people into this animalistic primal nature. A crowd becomes its own sentient thing. It becomes as smart as the dumbest person in it. That's why you see people that wouldn't act a certain type. They wouldn't otherwise act that way by themselves. And they're acting that way because they're in that crowd. Because there's something that's activated in their psyche or their mind through this metaphysical thing that we don't see.
