Is Second Peter a Distraction?

I noticed there was less references to things going on in second Peter. There's no chapter on the theology of second Peter because I felt it would be the main focus and a distraction just because of all the controversy surrounding second Peter. You know, we've kind of stuck because of our training on the on the linguistics of it. We throw in Hebrews and Revelation for good measure. But early Christian canons, Gospels and Axe.
