I think I was prey to a kind of groupthink, which very easily develops when you become part of a political or ideological movement. In hindsight, one of the things I kicked myself about was I actually ran a piece in August of 2002 by Brent Scowcroft who could not be accused of being some kind of far left radical. There was that mind-melt going on where I think those of us who were in favor of the invasion tended to be very impatient and dismissive of arguments against it.
