The Cold War, and the Global South

For a long time the struggles in guinea, basao and cape verde were non violent. P a i g c had non violent movements that try to de colonialize themselves from portugal. But because of massacres of villagers by portuguese, that was what forced the arm struggle. In a lot of these this cold war battles, they obviously didn't happen with the us. Taking on the us S r head on. They were through proxy battles, often in the global south. It also speaks to the heroic nature of so many just regular people around the world who we know exhausted every effort they could just to have basic rights.
