I'm willing to accept that the kind of epiphenomenal view as a real possibility. But there's a consciousness question I have for you, at least it involves the same word - even though it's a very different kind of question. Do you want to elaborate on the sense in which you identify with Hegel's emphasis on kind of consciousness and ideas as maybe not entirely autonomous in their influence on the world? They respond to material forces, but it's always a hard thing for me to think about it all, which is on top.
