How Can the Kingdom of Darkness Stand?

In ephesians six, paul makes the audacious claim that our struggle in this world is not primarily against flesh and blood. The biblical witness begins with the premise that evil exists as a ruler in the heavenly realms. All rulers have kingdoms over which they rule; Evil is exception. If satan drives out satan, he is divided against himself. How then, can his kingdom stand?
